Alright, so it looks like I’m back to doing this for a few weeks and if you folks care, please write any of us and tell us that you like what I’m doing here. Anyway, enough with teh damn public service announcements and ON TO THE NEWS !
* First up this week is a quick update that an interesting band that I’ve found recently, The Howlers, are in the studio working on what looks like their second EP / LP recording and it also seems that they are aiming for the summer or early fall for the release of this record. They are also doing some gigs down in So Cal this upcoming month of May. Check them out for sure !
* So, if you didn’t make it out to the 2009 Montana Psychobilly Showdown then I got some fun news for you folks ! The guys and gals over there have startedsets of photos from all of the bands from the line-up, starting with the Royal Dead, Highlonesome, Whiskey Whailers and Peter King & Dan Ruggles with a TON more to be posted. Go check them out as some of these photos are pretty damn good. Also be sure to show Dawn L. some love for her photos as well !

* Well, do any of my friends live in Texas,(especially smaller towns with live music venues) Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia,

* The Psycho DeVilles are revving up to hit the road and are possibly hitting your town if you live in either the dirty south or as far up as Tennessee to Texas. The boys are also coming fresh off this tour to record their BRAND NEW record which as of right now called ‘Night Prowler’ so look forward to that in either the late fall or early winter of 09/10. * So, by now I think you’ve heard of The Wrecking Dead and maybe you know about the Sick Sick Sinners. Now what would you think about those 2 great group of fellas doing a show together ? well, how about a whole friggin tour ? That’s right kids, these guys are doing a full fledged tour for those of us that are living in either Cali or Arizona ! The groovy kats from Wicked Zombie Promotions are putting this on and are calling it the “Road Of Sin U.S. Tour 2009″. so, if you have the scratch to get to one, go see these fells !

* So, did anyone know The Rocketz just happen to have a new CD of 16 full-fledged stomp-a-billy songs real recently ? Of course not, because I haven’t been around to fill you in ! This is the long anticipated follow up to 2005’s Rise Of The Undead. This is being touted as some of the final records of Mr. Andy DeMize, Andy Martinez, Mr. Pink, the White Castle Masta…Dr. Potato, or whatever you might have known him as. Featuring songs like the rapid fire cover of Holiday In Cambodia, the sure-shot in the track East L.A., Razor Blades, and the hit single Label On The Bottle…this is destined to be another road ready classic from Mr. Tony Slash and the boys.

* Now the last thing I’m gonna’ mention this week is that my favorite new-er spooky punkers, The Serpenteens, are live and direct in the studio working on their new record which as of press time does have a working title of Murderfest Destiny. They have been going long and strong on this for quite a while and even posted a demo of the new song 13 Steps on their myspace page for all the world to hear. Sounds like they are aiming for the fall for a release. An animated video will follow shortly after the release to promote the record. More to follow as it becomes available.
Yeah, we like the column. I read it all the time. I’m sure everyone else reads it also, but since there is no music (people usually write cuz they want a request or want their band played or something). We’re in the scene and we like to be informed. I know it takes time and effort to put all this together so on behalf of every other fucker, Thanks a lot. We all appreciate this.
